  2. Floyd still had the class, to be honest he took it easy against rocky, I think he wanted to get some rounds under his belt but against groves i just sat back and aplauded just how classy he was, i felt a bit sorry for gary as he had no answer for Floyd's speed and movement. Steve Dossett is tough and still unbeaten but doesnt have that knockout power of some of the boys but i would be hard pushed to find someone to beat him. Jamie is now doing MMA and blown up into a heavyweight, we tried a couple of times to get him against Sven, which I think a lot of people would have like to see but unfortunately every time we tried the fight fell through.
two boxers we have now John Brennan and John Hutchinson are good fighters, maybe the best Middlewieghts we have ever had, they are both unbeaten and we're looking to match them against each other sometime in April, that will be a tough and good fight.
As you mentioned Joe Kacz, i also believe he was fortunate ahainst Sven, for some reason Sven was knackered after the first round, but not taking anything away from Joe, he won the fight that night and is and always has been prepared to fight anyone.

  7. I dont think i would insult any of our boxers if we said the classiest boxer we ever had was Floyd Havard, next I would say it would be Sven Hamer who was unbeaten for around five years, next i would have say its a stie between three fighters Glenn Reynolds may not have been the best technical boxer we ever had but he had guts by the bucketfull, i would tie him with Bad Boy Colin Wilby and Pete Stoten for third place.
Ricky Boylon, Tony Owen, Danny Connor and Piwi Adams who are are all Pro now were good fighters as well.

    Who was the best Guv'nor/
that is a difficult question mate, I am slightly biased as Roy is like a second father to me and i used to do a lot of work with Lenny, for boxing ability i would say Sven hamer on his day would take some beating but for pure aggression i would give Roy the nod, when Lenny beat him there was a big age and size difference. Lenny was fast and powerful but could go if he got caught, if he and roy fought at the same age then i think Roy would have beaten him every time.

  22. We hope everyone had a very good Christmas and would like to wish everyone a very happy new year. 2012 is going to be a very interesting year for us, MeanMachine promotions and the WSO together with Clarke Promotions will be staging our first international show on March the 10th in Derry Ireland.

This is a milestone for us and a milestone for semi-pro boxing and shows the strength and depth of our organisations that we are branching out into other countries. It is going to be a challenge but it is one we are very much looking forward to, once again it shows we are the leading organisation in semi-pro boxing and it speaks volumes of our professionalism and respect.

2011 was a very interesting year and saw the emergence of a few more promotional outfits, we relish the competition as it makes us raise our game and find new and innovative ideas, it is just a shame that these new outfits don’t hold the same principals as us, once again ‘poaching fighters’ is top of their list. It is also a shame that most of these companies have in some way or another copied us or sought our advice, it would be nice if they said thank you, instead of trying to steal our boxers, but then again if you’re a Lion then you can’t have faith and friendship with hyenas .

We will just carry on the same way we have always carry on and treat our friends with respect and ignore the people with no morals, but what we will do in 2012 is we are going to take MeanMachine into their backyards, we will promote at their venues and their hometowns, they want a challenge then let’s have one, MeanMachine gets mean when challenged.

What these other promoters lack is the history, a MeanMachine champion is the best, end of story, to be a MeanMachine fighter means you are something, you are the Guv’nor at your weight, and not just another champion walking around with some micky mouse belt which no one has ever boxed for before.

In 2011 we turned down two TV opportunities because we were not satisfied with what was being offered, we are not interested in paying our own production fees just to get a few fights on some obscure SKY channel, we will be holding talks with some big players in the new year and hopefully we can find the right deal where the money can filter down to the boxers who are in our stable. (that’s another thing, if anyone is reading this and has a boxer who is boxing on one of these obscure TV channels then you should insist on getting a share of any TV revenue raised, if you are top of the bill and are not getting a better deal then quite simply you are being ‘mugged off’)
In 2011 we saw some top class talent coming through our shows, a special mention goes out to our new middleweight champion’s John Brenan and John o Halloran, both won WSO belts and sometime in 2012 they will box each other in what is sure to be a great fight and a sell-out event. We would also like to mention Trevor Scrapper Smith who began the year boxing for the southern area title and ended up becoming the WSO light middleweight British champion; taking all this into consideration we have decided that all three boys will share the MeanMachine 2011 fighter of the year award.
(Lewis Pinto!... you are welcome to challenge any of these boys mate)

We would also like to mention our excitement about two boxers who we think will make big impressions in 2012, Shoab Bhatti our Indian heavyweight and Frank Sadler, Shoab is doing well in training and along with Frank they will be boxing on our February show.
Have a happy new year and we hope to see you in 2012

  24. INDUCEMENT TO BREACH CONTRACT
STILL THE FACEBOOK PROMOTERS ARE CONTACTING OUR FIGHTERS ALMOST ON A DAILY BASIS, WE ARE NOW SICK OF THIS AND WE HAVE TAKEN LEGAL ADVICE.
it seems that most of these organisations that are popping up dont realise that they are putting themselves in a position to be prosecuted where we sue for damages.
YOU HAVE NOW BEEN WARNED, WE ARE WATCHING AND OUR SOLICITORS WILL COME AFTER YOU IF THIS CONTINUES
Tortious interference with contract rights can occur where the tortfeasor convinces a party to breach the contract against the plaintiff, or where the tortfeasor disrupts the ability of one party to perform his obligations under the contract, thereby preventing the plaintiff from receiving the performance promised. The classic example of this tort occurs when one party induces another party to breach a contract with a third party, in circumstances where the first party has no privilege to act as it does and acts with knowledge of the existence of the contract. Such conduct is termed tortious inducement of breach of contract.
Tortious interference with business relationships occurs where the tortfeasor acts to prevent the plaintiff from successfully establishing or maintaining business relationships. This tort may occur when a first party's conduct intentionally causes a second party not to enter into a business relationship with a third party that otherwise would probably have occurred. Such conduct is termed tortious interference with prospective business relations, expectations, or advantage or with prospective economic advantage

  32. Unfortunatley we have had to postpone our boxing show at Oceana's in Kingston on the 10th of July as the show was riddled with boxer injuries, we have had three boxers withdraw last week due to injuries. The MeanMachine team met over the weekend and reluctantly decided to postpone the show. our apolagies go out to all boxers who were scheduled to box but be rest assured that the decision was not taken lightly to cancel the show.
we take our reputation very seriously and we are not prepared to stage a sub standard show, our customers are used to having great entertaining evenings and used to seeing good championship bouts.
In boxing every now and again instances such as this do happen, this is only the second show we have ever had to postpone in twelve years of promoting.

  33. THE FACEBOOK PROMOTERS ARE AT IT AGAIN!!
Once again the phantom facebook promoters are contacting fighters on facebook and promoising them all kinds of rubbish, Why on earth do the boxers listen to these idiots.
we are sick and tired of these jokers who dont have any websites or regular shows but just want to promote via facebook, if any fighter is fool enough to listen to these idiots then fine, box for them. box maybe once every two years, please dont come back to us all the time telling us about these fantastic cuckoo land promise.

  36. MeanMachine Promotions introduce 'WHO'S THE GUV'NOR' Series for 2011
The Guv'nor title was first used by Roy Shaw when he beat Donny Adams and Joe Pyle snr said to the papers that Roy was now The Guv'nor.
The News paper then used it as a headline with a picture of Roy, since then the word has gone hand in hand with Roy Shaw and Lenny Mclean.
Joe Pyle jnr has followed in his fathers footsteps and continues to use this title for his Heavyweight titles, over the last few years Sven hamer, Joe Kacz , Norman Buckland & Garry Sayer have held the status.

In 2011 we are now looking for the new Guv'nor, we will be signing up fighters and running the series on our next few shows.
This title is fully endorsed by Roy Shaw and Joe pyle and we will be filming a documentary throughout the whole series.
we are looking for all heavyweights to come and join us and become a part of history.
we are currently designing a new website for the series
    www.whostheguvnor.com
contact MeanMachine and get your names down, we will only be accepting eight boxers for the series so get in fast!
check back both sites for updates

  37. JUST SAY NO!!
It seems that certain promoters are upto their old tricks again and contacting other promoters fighters through the social networking site facebook.
Meanmachine are sick and tired of these leaches who contact our fighters promising them just a pack of lies.
we never 'Poach' other promoters fighters. for myself, The IBA and Ricky English its an unwritten rule that you do not contact someone else's boxer.
If any of our fighters are contacted just tell them you are already boxing for the largest semi pro organisation in the country and send this site an email letting us know who approached you.
And remember if they are telling you how great they are, then why are they contacting you, its simple its because they are struggling to put on shows and want to jump onto other peoples hard work.

  38. Meanmachine would like to thank all the boxers and supporters from Sunday night at our Oceana show in Kingston. we had a fantastic crowd and a great atmosphere.
congratulations go to Wayne Abdullah for winning the vacant WSO English cruiserweight title.
Wayne was originally going to box Steve Dossett for the EBC British title but after Steve failed his medical we made the match with Mark Duncan who was scheduled to box someone else on the night.
Wayne won the fight by a 40/38 points margin in what was a thrilling bout, Abdullah boxed at long range throwing fast combinations against the counter punching Duncan.

We would also like to conratulate Rocky Muscus who won our other title bout on the night against tough Danny Granger, referee Steve Holdswrth scored the bout 40/38 to Rocky who became the EBC Light Heavyweight London Champion.

Other mentions go out to Jamie Brittle Won Ko Rd1, James Flynn Won KO rd 1, Liam Conroy Won PTS 3, Ryan Fields Won KO 1, and Ben Hurr Won KO Rd 1

All in all the night was a great success regrdless of the bad luck we had with boxers pulling out injured in the days before the promotion.

we return to Kingston on the 28th of November

  43. MEANMACHINE STATEMENT 23rd July 2010

It is with great regret that we must announce that our show at the Clapham Grand scheduled for the 15th of August has had to be postponed.
The venue called me on tuesday to inform me that they were having a problem regarding licensing a boxing event.
After two days of non stop conversations to wandsworth council and Earlsfield police station we were unable to secure the show for the 15th.
The police want over three weeks to process a 3 page Risk Assessment form?
We completed the form in 20 minutes!!

My apolagies to all boxers and staff who are involved, but it seems that sometimes the powers that be are completly predjudice against our great sport of boxing.

We are looking to reschedule the event for the 19th of September which should give our extremely busy police force ample time to do there job.

  47. We are sorry to announce that our planned show for APPs court farm in hampton Court will have to be postponed until later in the year.
We will have to re-schedule it because of council licensing issue, we could go forward with the show but we can only get a license for a maximum of 500 people which includes all boxers, staff and security, this could work but we are now applying for a full license whwere we can hold any amount of people which will be better for everyone but the downside is this kind of license takes afew weeks to get.
hopefully we will be looking at staging a massive two day event sometime in september.
