Meanmachine Promotions are a Professional and Semi Professional boxing organisation formed by Joe Pyle .
Tired of all the red tape and regulations of the BBBofC professional and amateur codes Joe decided to make the sport more accessible to the boxing public.
He formed his own promotion outfits and took up where Joe Pyle sr and Alex Steene began.

Roy Shaw was the first Guv’nor (heavyweight Champion) and today the sport continues now with the present Guv’nor Sven The Hammer Hamer.

The Guv’nor title belongs to Meanmachine, this is our title.
The term ‘Unlicensed boxing’ was first used back in the 70’s when Joe Pyle sr tried to get Roy Shaw a professional licence, when Roy was refused on the grounds of his criminal record they set out and formed their own regulating body.
The British boxing board of controls response was to publicly condemn them by saying that the shows were ‘unlicensed’
It was a cheeky statement as calling something unlicensed makes it sounds illegal but to stage a boxing event is not illegal just as its not illegal to stage a football event or any other past time.
What these shows were was ‘unaffiliated’ meaning they were not linked to other regulating bodies.
Bringing the sport forward into the 21st century our shows are now regulated by the WSO The World Sports Organisation and WSO officials supervise the shows with doctors and paramedics in attendance.

Joe Pyle was in fact the youngest ever promoter to stage a Professional World Boxing Championship contest at York Hall back in 2000, its this experience and depth of knowledge of the sport that they are filling venues around the country.

Today the sport is blooming! Meanmachine are now involved in 14 shows a year and will be expanding the brand in the near future,

Over the years our shows have been a great launching pad for any boys who have taken the decision to go over to the BBBofC professional ranks, we can't think of any other Semi - pro Promoters who have featured more currently active pro's
